*I'm not sure as to why I look like a total derp in almost every thumbnail!*
However, if you already know what this is, then lets get to talking about movies! :-D
1. 21 Jump Street
(Action, Comedy)
This movie is probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
"21 Jump Street" is about two young cops who were sent on an undercover case to find the dealer of a new drug going around at a local high school.
I have to say, Channing Tatum did a great job at bring out his comical side since it's not something you see in a lot of the past movies he has starred in, and of course, Jonah Hill was hysterical as always.
I saw this movie at a screening at the last minute, I had no idea what it was really about, I just thought it had looked funny. My friends and I went to watch it and I do not regret any second of it. I watched it again the other night online, and it was still as funny as it was the first time I watched it.
If you ever have the chance to watch this on DVD or online, make it on your to-do list to watch it! If you're into comedy and a bit of action, then you will most definitely not regret.
*You get to see Johnny Depp!!!*
2. The Last House on the Left
(Horror, Thriller)
Alright, so I've seen this movie like, probably a good five times. It's just that good.
"The Last House on the Left" has to do with a teenage girl and her parents who go off to a vacation at their cabin. After meeting up with a friend, they meet a boy who involuntarily leads them into a death trap. This movie has a bunch of action, a bit of gore, and just downright makes you scared.
Although it is a scary movie, I do like it because it's one of those movies that keep you at the edge of your seat. If you are extremely jumpy, this movie is probably not the best call for you.
This movie has a perspective of both the killers and the teenage girl played by Sarah Paxton. Well, actually now that I think of it, it might just be from a third persons point of view...yeah, that makes a bit more sense.
ANYWAY, prepare for gore, cringes, and maybe a bit of regret as to why you chose to watch this movie in the middle of the night before you had to go to sleep. Yeah, it's one of those.
3. Buried
(Mystery, Drama)
Okay, before I even begin, if you are scared of just the thought of being buried alive and enclosed spaces, this movie is probably not the best choice for you.
"Buried", starring Ryan Reynolds, is one of those one-place type of movies. You literally start off with him being buried, and ends with him being buried. After being attacked in the middle of Iraq, Paul Conroy, a U.S truck driver, wakes up in a coffin with only a cellphone and a couple of other supplies. The whole entire movie revolves around Conroy trying to get out with the help of U.S government but at the same time trying to solve deals he's being forced to make by the Iraqi who was in charge of him being underground in the first place.
At first, I just thought it was just an attack and there were actually people trying to get him out, but when I watched it a second time with my sister, she pointed out that the people who he was talking about most likely wasn't trying to help him at all. It really makes you think about conflicts going on with the U.S and other countries, not only with war. There are people being put into certain situations that we aren't even aware of, and that's frightening, especially since it's the truth.
The reason I liked this movie is that it makes you think about the type of world we live in, it's not just about an American who is trapped underground. This man was not doing a thing wrong (that we know of) and was just attacked while doing his job and while he is suffering, there are people who are supposed to help that aren't even do a thing.

(Horror, Thriller)
At first, I wasn't a huge fan of "Quarantine" because it truly scared me and made me paranoid, but, now that I watch a bit more stuff about zombies and science-y stuff, it's not that bad.
"Quarantine" is another one of those movies that stay in just one area for most of the happenings. It has to do with this reporter who goes to a firehouse to get an insight on what actually happens in a firehouse. Anyway, the firemen get called to go to this apartment building and of course, the reporter and her cameraman goes along for the ride. About maybe ten or so minutes into the movie, they are all trapped inside, well, quarantined, in the building because there's some sort of virus that you soon find out turn anyone who gets bit into a zombie-like state.
For some reason, I actually enjoyed watching this movie the second and third time around since I already knew what was going on, there's really no meaning behind it, in my opinion. It's just one of those thrillers that makes you paranoid about ever entering a building and scream whenever a zombie pops out.
The second one is a bit better than the first, it's more action packed, and deals with an actual group of people that are quarantined rather than just a couple here and there.
5. The Hunger Games
(Action, Si-Fi)
Okay, I'm sure we all know about "The Hunger Games" and what it's about, so I'm not even going to explain it, I'll just go straight into my reasons of why it's one of my favorite movie.
I have been a fan of the book since freshman year when a friend introduced it to me, at first it was just a regular book that I didn't seem to understand too well- it was the first dystopian novel I actually finished, but I was still excited to finish it, to find out what happened and all of that. So once I was on the third book, I started to appreciate it more, and when I found out a movie was coming out for it, I was psyched.
The movie was all-around awesome with a couple of flaws, but I'm too in love with the storyline and the books itself to even care too much about them. There were a couple of things in the movie that didn't live up to my expectations and that could have been better, but I looked at it as a "Twilight" type of thing where the first movie wasn't all that great then it slowly began to get better once the fan base grew so I have high hopes for the second and third movie.
I think the reason I love the movie and books as much as I do is that it's the first series I actually kept up with. I never finished the Harry Potter books or the Twilight books, while everyone else had. Now that I have finished one series, it makes me feel like I'm apart of a certain fan base, not the ones who started reading the book after the movie and HOPEFULLY not the ones that started reading Mockingjay without reading The Hunger Games before because they already saw the movie so they know what's going on. Oh. I hope not. But, I'm apart of something and that's pretty cool to me. (laaammee)

6. 10 Things I Hate About You
(Comedy, Romance)
Romance, I know, blech. Actually, this movie is probably the only movie I can proudly say I love watching without seeming like a total chick-flick lover- and I do enjoy a good chick-flick that is not a total cliche. But anyway, this is another movie that we all most likely know what it's about. Pretty much it's about this nerdy kid who wants to date this girl but is only allowed to take her out if the girls older sister (who is one of those feminist, badass type of girls) goes out too. So this nerdy kid goes to the popular kid and gives him the offer of being able to take the girl on a date, the popular guy agrees then goes to some badass guy and pays him to take the older sister on a date so he can get some with the younger sister.
If you have seen the show that was like, a season long on ABC Family, you might have the gist of what's going on. But trust me, the movie is waaay better.
Throughout the whole movie I feel more emotionally attached to Kat's character, just because of how she's screwed over but then love finds her again. And, who can go wrong with Heath Ledger singing "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You"!?

7. Bridesmaids
(Comedy, Romance)
If I had one word to explain this movie it'd be HILARIOUS (in caps too.)
Right for the start this movie had me laughing, the cast is great, the storyline was great, the jokes were great. Everything was g r e a t!
This movie has to do mainly with the friendship between Annie (Kristen Wiig) and Lillian (Maya Rudolph). Lillian is getting married and Annie feels threatened by one of Lillians bridesmaids, Helen (Rose Bryne) and throughout the whole movie, the two bridesmaids are trying to show Lillians who is the better friend, etc etc. Of course, everything turns out fine in the end, it is a movie.
Next to 21 Jump Street, I don't think a movie made me laugh as much as this one did.
AND! The Irish fellow from "The IT Crowd" is in it and he's my favorite....no, not just because he's Irish. (Well. Maybe a little because he's Irish.)
But, this movie is one of those that you watch when you're have a girls movie night or just in need for a pick-me up and don't mind laughing so hard you might just pee yourself.

8. 28 Days + Weeks Later
(Si-Fi, Thriller)
Zombies. Zombies. Zombies. These both movies have everything zombies. Killing zombies, moms becoming into zombies, zombies eating humans then turning those humans into zombies. Everything. If you don't like zombies and anything gory, these movies are not for you.
The two are obviously about zombies, but they both have different plots to it.
28 DAYS later is when the zombie attacks all begin, the escaping, find refuge, etc. 28 WEEKS later has to do with what happens after those 28 days were over. Both have very different story lines. In Days you will follow the life of one man who finds his town vacant, destroyed, and worst of all, surrounded by zombies. There is plenty of killing in this one, more than how it is in Weeks. In Weeks, you follow the lives of a family of three where the father escapes from a zombie attack on his town and finds refuge in a whole new area that is completely closed off to any harm, when his two kids finally are finally back in his possession, that's when things start to get real. Kids will be kids, they'll scoop around for something to do.
Personally, I like both movies but for different reasons. Days truly scared me, I mean, who knew zombies could run!?!?!? And with Weeks, I feel like I had a more of an attachment towards the characters that I didn't want them to die, but I think that has to do with the fact that two of the three characters where kids and that they were desperate to find their mom, who may or may not be a zombie.
Also, if you've ever watched "Once Upon A Time" you remember Mr. Gold, or as we may all know him as Rumpelstitlskin? Yeah, he's the dad in Weeks also, remember the creepy guy from "Red Eye"? He's the main character in Days.

9. P2
(Horror, Thriller)
Similar to "Buried", "P2" is another movie where the whole time the main character is in one place, the only thing is that she has a whole building to hide away from her killer...or get caught. Dun, dun, DUUUUUNNN.
This movie follows Angela, who after a long day at work, the only thing she wants to do is spend Christmas Eve with her family, not with the psycho parking security guy. Early in the movie, her car won't turn on, the front door guard-type guy is missing, and the only person there is the security guard who has a creepy crush on Angela.
This movie with not only creep you out AND scare you, but it'll make you never want to work in any area with a enclosed parking area.
Although it's scary, this movie was very well thought out and it's main purpose is to make you paranoid, just like most thrillers are. It'll also make you feel. Whether it's feeling sorry for the security guy or feel grossed out when someone dies or scare you when she gets trapped in the elevator, it will make you feel things.
What I like most about this movie is that just because she's in one area, it is still extremely suspenseful, even at the very, VERY end.
It's Ryan Reynolds, everybody. In a FAT SUIT! I love, love, love this movie. Until watching this movie, I never thought of Ryan Reynolds as a funny guy, but he is, he really, really is.
When hot shot Chris Brander comes back home one Christmas, all of his unwanted memories from high school come flowing back in, including his high school crush. In high school, Chris was the nerdy, fat kid with a best friend who was the complete opposite of him, when graduating high school, Chris promised he'd make it big, meaning moving to New York, and becoming the guy his high school crush would always have wanted.
This movie is filled with geeky romance, funny sibling rivalry, and menacing little kids. Also, Anna Faris (remember her from House Bunny?) is in it, and we all know she's a funny gal.
For some reason, this movie made me laugh even when they weren't intentionally being funny. All of the things that Chris does to impress Jamie and the things he goes through in order to actually get her is hysterical.
Plus, the part where he's wearing his retainers and one of those ugly Christmas sweaters. Oh my God. Too funny.
